THIS BOOK IS EVERYTHING THAT I HOPE HAPPENS IN THE FUTURE - BUT NOT NOW THOUGH, I HAVE TO GET 'VERIFIED FIRST' HA!

This novel follows Sloane, a trend forecaster, who moves to New York City, after many years of living in Paris, France - away from her family, old life, and essentially everything that made her who she is in present time.
The story doesn't really start until Sloane and her long-time not-husband Roman, who is French, take flight to NYC to fulfill Sloane's newly appointed duties and explore Roman's Zentai suit fetish.
Sloane's claim to fame, aside from numerous fashion predictions, is that of the 'swipe' movement. She predicted tapping on a device would get old fast and swiping, left or right for a miss or a match, or up while scrolling through an influencers IG story (to learn more) would be right where we ended up - this being a reality is exactly how she got her current job which lands her in NYC.
Roman and Sloane find their differences quickly after the move. Roman really embraces the idea of a touch-less lifestyle, including VR sex (it's all covered in his publicly humiliating oped in the New Yorker) and Sloane finds herself craving touch even more - whether because she's stateside again and her family is near, her biological tock is ticking, or because it's just completely fucked up to not want to crave penetrative sex.
The novel is told through the matter of fact, some what bitchy, Sloane's point of view and doesn't disappoint more than once.
